This award supports students in the initial ideation stage. Suitable applicants who have a promising idea that addresses a meaningful and real need.

The stage 1 award is evaluated based on:

• Novelty
• The severity of the pain you are solving / importance of the opportunity you are seizing
• Differentiation

High-Level Application Advice

• You over your idea - we are more interested in you, rather than your idea - and the questions that follow are just a way for us to get to know your thinking better.
• Less is more - just because there is a word limit, you don’t need to use it all up. We value the conciseness and quality of your thoughts - not how many words you put down.
